DescriptionHattikulli is a homestay situated amidst the coffee plantation which is more than 100 years old. The estate is around 100 Acres and the Homestay is surrounded by Coffee Plantation, Forest, Mountains, lake and a small Stream. Hattikulli is at a distance of about 95 kilometers from Chikmagalur City and near the Bhadra Tiger Reserve.
So, whatever may be the season come and enjoy the stay at Homestay which is away from the madding crowd and listen to the nature.
Hattikulli is situated between Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary(Agumbe) and Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary(Muthodi) and around 250 species of birds and animals are our neighbors of the wild kind. It is therefore a regular occurrence to be greeted by peacocks, Flying Cat, sambhar, Slender Loris, Bison, giant Malabar squirrel, Draco(Flying Lizard), grey jungle fowl, parakeets, Kingfisher, Bee-eaters and wood peckers, great Indian Hornbills,

Trek to Kundadri - 40 KMS from HattiKulli HomestaySurrounded by dense evergreen forests, Kundadri is a lovely place for trekking. This hill is a gigantic monolithic rock. One can reach the hill top by good asphalted road and also trek from base to the top of the hill. The walk up the hill using the shortcut route is a great experience .If you drive to the hill, after the parking lot, one need to use the stone-paved path that leads to the top. Atop this hill, is a `Jain Basthi’ (Jain settlement) which is said to be of 17th century and next to which are three ponds. Kundadri is named after a Jain Monk Kundakundacharya.
Kundadri, surrounded by lush green provides a picturesque scene of both sun rise and sun set. On a sunny day, you will find the horizon glittering, Guess what the glitter: The Arabian sea at Udupi! Agumbe - 43 KMS from HattiKulli Homestay
Agumbe is one of the most scenic places on the Western Ghats of the Southern India. Added to the lush green view all around, the attractions for the visitors is the spectacular sunset and vast opportunities it offers to the trekkers.
If you are looking for a peaceful break for a few days from the hectic city life, away from the crowded and commercialized attractions, then this is the place for you. Agumbe is among the places that receive high rainfall and is rightly called the Cherrapunji of South India. Sunset Point : Sunset View Point rests on one of the highest peaks of the Western Ghats on the Udupi-Agumbe Road. It is ten minutes’ walk from Agumbe. On a fine evening, the sunset can be seen over the Arabian Sea.
Barkana Falls : Barkana Falls, Northeast of Agumbe, is 850 ft/259 mts in height. It is the tenth highest falls in India. It is a fall in the Seeta River which powers a hydroelectric system. The viewing point for the Barkana Falls is about 4 km from the end of the approaching vehicle track.
Onake Abbi Falls : Onake Abbi Falls at 400 feet, is smaller than Barkana Falls. In the Kannada language, "onake" means 'pounding stick', an instrument used by villagers to pound grains to flour. Trekking for 5 km through rainforest is needed in order to reach a view of the falls.

Sringeri, is a hill town and taluk headquarters located in Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka, is the site of the first maṭha (Sringeri Sharada Peeta) established by Adi Shankara,Hindu theologian and exponent of the Advaita Vedanta philosophy, in the 8th century CE It is located on the banks of the river Tungā.
Sharadamba Temple : The Vidyashankara temple was built by Vidyaranya, patron-saint of Harihara and Bukka, the brothers who founded the Vijayanagara empire. The niches in the temple have a number of sculptures from Hindu, Buddhist and Jain mythologies. Inscriptions in the temple record contributions made by several Vijayanagara emperors but the temple was probably built on an earlier Hoysala site as it combines Hoysala and Vijayanagara architectural features. Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary a protected area and a Project Tiger tiger reserve located 38 km (24 mi). northwest of Chikmagalur town. The huge reservoir here is the main water supply to several districts in the rain shadow regions of south Karnataka. The forests here are rich in Bamboo and birds species unique to both the Malabar and Sahyadri ranges. Bhadra sanctuary has a wide range of flora and fauna and is a popular place for day outings. The 1,875 m (6,152 ft) above MSL Hebbe Giri is the highest peak in the sanctuary. Bhadra is the first tiger reserve in the country to complete a successful village relocation program.
