Kesinamane Resort is about 3400 Ft above Sea level on the top of a hill, and offers an affordable vacation home just around 4 hours’ drive from Bangalore, on 5 acres of land, surrounded by streams, in Saklespur. Sakleshpura is located in the Western Ghats, a mountain range that stretches from Kerala to Gujarat. The southern range, which includes Bisle reserve forest and the region around Sakleshpur is listed as one of the 18 most diverse spots in the world in terms of flora and fauna. The sub-tropical climate and heavy rains during the wet season create an environment where several unique plant and animal species flourish.

Sakaleshpura is a taluk and hill station town in Hassan district in the South Indian state of Karnataka. It has an average elevation of 949 metres (3113 feet). Hemavathi river flows in Sakleshpura town.

Yedakurmeri Trek (The Green Route Railway Trek )

"Trek on the Railway Track", as it is well known, is a stretch of track from Sakleshpura to the Subramanya Road Station. This track, that traverses some distance of the Western Ghats, had been abandoned, but now the track is being converted to broad-gauge. It forms a part of 56.80 km stretch from Sakleshpur to Kukke Subrahmanya, dotted by 58 tunnels, 109 bridges and about 25 waterfalls.

Bisile Forest Trek

Bisle Ghat is a stretch of beautiful adventurous spot between Subramanya and Sakleshpur. Bisile is a evergreen forest. Few Trekking trails requires permit from the forest department.

The “Bisle Gudda” or “Sunny Mountain” is a scenic picnic spot as well as a trekker’s dream-route. The mountain ranges are typical of Western Ghats of India.

The local forest authorities have built observation decks which is suitable for bird watching. The spot has also attracted famed photographers of the educational TV channels such as Louis Patrick.

Agni Gudda:

The “Agni Gudda” or Parvat as you would have guessed by now means “Fiery Mountain” for legendry volcanic activities in this region.

This location has been an all-time favorite with the youths from Bangalore for trekking, and outdoor camping. The mountain provides a great view of the surrounding rice terraces and a good spot for picnicking and outdoor camping.
This spot also has been recorded on various South Indian and Bollywood movies.

Sight Seeing

Sakleshpur offers many sightseeing options to tourists. Manjarabad fort which is located close to Sakleshpura on National Highway 48 is a prime attraction of the hill station. Constructed by Tippu Sultan the fort was used as a strategic defensive location. It is said that Tippu Sultan also constructed a tunnel from Manjarabad fort to another fort in Srirangapattana.

Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, a famous temple dedicated to Lord Subramanyeshwara is another most visited attraction. There are also shrines dedicated to Saraswati Devi and Lord Ganesha near the temple.

Bisle Ghat provides a majestic view of the surrounding mountain ranges. Located next to the Bisle Ghat, Bisle Reserve Forest is another attraction. The region surrounding Sakleshpur is also home to some famous trekking trails, most notably the Green Route.

Bettada Byraveshwara: 2 KMS from Paradise Resort.
This ancient temple is said to be over 700 years old. It is atop a hill and overlooks the entire valley. Stand there and get mesmerized by the glorious views of the hills in the Western Ghats and the valley and wonder how someone thought of building a temple here. God Byreshwara seems to stand guard over the entire valley. There is a nice motorable road, though steep, leading to the temple. One can also climb up to the temple through steps that have been built.

Devarunda – Dakshina Kashi – Abode of Gods
8 kms from Paradise Resort Devarunda is short in Kannada for “Devaru Idda Jaaga” (the abode of Gods). Also known as Dakshina Kashi, the temple complex houses the gods Rameshwara, Veerabadreshwara, Byreshwara, Channakeshva, Parvati, Ganapathi, etc and is very revered. The temple said to be over a 500 years old, is undergoing a makeover with newer constructions coming up within the complex.

Manzarabad Fort - 40 minutes drive from Paradise Resort
Water Sports at Yagachi Backwaters
70 minutes drive from Paradise Resort Yagachi Water Sports is set in the backwaters of the Yagachi Dam located in Belur about 40 KM from Wild wagtail and offers an array of water sports like; baoting, jet ski, bumpy ride, banana boat, and lot more.

  • Shettyhalli / Gorur Dam - 120 minutes drive. The ruins of the Holy Rosary Church in Shettyhalli are partially submerged in water. This church was built by the French in 1860.

When you drive down from Bangalore on NH-48 towards Hassan (Mangalore) and beyond towards Sakleshpur, the experience of the smooth 6 lane highway is enough to seem like the perfect vacation already. Head via Nelmangala, past Kunigal, Chennarayapatna and Hassan on NH48. NH-48 is now renumbered as NH-75.

Sakleshpur is located on the National Highway 48 which connects Mangalore to Bangalore and hence easily accessible from both the cities. Mangalore is the nearest airport at a distance of 130 km while Bangalore is located at a distance of 225 km. Regular KSRTC bus services are available from both the cities and taking a cab is also an option.

After 12PM Shark Food Resturant starts its operating till 11:30 PM. Dosa camp serves hot tatte idlis with masala vada, varieties of dosas and spicy palaav or Tomato Bath. Tatte idlis are very special among the other dishes, which is served with veg sagu, green and red coconut chutney. Dosas are also very popular.
