Mudukuthore is a pilgrim centre situated on the banks of the river Kaveri. Mudukuthore is a quiet village with a backdrop of a hillock called Somagiri. Mudukuthore is located at a distance of 48 km from Mysore, 25 km from Somnathapur, 18 km from T.Narsipur and is close to Talakad. The place is known for the temple of Lord Mallikarjuna. The place gets its name Mudukuthore from the river cauvery as it gets a turn and flows forward.

Safaris in open-top jeep into the Biligiri Rangana Temple wildlife sanctuary - accompaniend by well-trained naturalist- are the best way to view wildlife here. The naturalist will interpret the sight and sounds of the forest to the guests.

BR Hills is located in a rain shadow area receives its share of shower when the nonsoon recedes during October and November.So, while in june to September are usually the wet months along the Western ghats, it is very pleasant and green in BR hill duirng these months, making it the best time to visit the camp.During summer (April to mid-june) it is a wonderful retreat from the heat of the plain.BR hill offers salubrious climate during the rest of the year.

The Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary is Bordered by the Cauvery river and state of Tamil Nadu on the eastern and northern boundary, the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary formed in 1987 covers an area of 526.96 sq km and spreads over the districts of Mysore, Bangalore and Mandya. This area receives an annual rainfall of 945 mm. The Palar river and several seasonal and perennial streams ensure a sufficient supply of water for this protected area.The vegetation type is dry, deciduous forest.Terminalia arjuna-Tamarindus indica types are seen on the river banks.The Kanipanpura elephant corridor links this protected area with the high density elephant areas like Nagarhole, Bandipur, Wynaad, Mudumalai, as well as the reserve forests of Sathyamangalam and the Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary.
